Liquid ISO tanks and dry containers logistics "door to door"

  • TANK CONTAINERS (LIQUID BULK / ISO TANK) LOGISTICS We provide intermodal supply chain management and door-to-door logistical services to clients who require to move, store and discharge tank containers of liquid product commodities such as hazardous chemicals, MDI / TDI, resin, foodstuffs and other liquid goods. ISO tank is a special steel tanker placed in the frame of a standard 20'DV container for transporting liquid products. Containers of this type hold 6600 gal or 25,000 litres of liquid in bulk, and their dimensions are the same as a standard container: height 2.39m, width 2.35m and length 3.90m, i.e. 20' x 8' x 8.6’. The ISO tank is suitable for storing almost any type of fluid, including hazardous liquids. It has an upper and lower valve which enables gravity emptying. What can be transported in ISO containers? Substances classified as hazardous, e.g. hydrochloric acid. Neutral substances such as liquid food preparations, oils, drinks, juices, wine and water. Chemical substances for the industrial, chemical, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.

When you start shipping a lot of freight, you should start thinking about ocean freight. The movement of commodities by sea in shipping containers is referred to as ocean freight transit. The most popular means of transportation used by importers and exporters is ocean freight. In actuality, sea freight and ocean freight account for 90% of all shipments of products. The other forms of shipping goods internationally (courier, air freight, express) are all quicker but also more expensive. Smaller shipments and items with a high value typically use these alternative ways of transportation.

You should consider using rail transportation as a part of your logistics solution when:
  • You need to transport large quantities of goods over long distances: Rail transportation is an efficient option for transporting large quantities of goods over long distances, especially for heavy and bulky items.
  • You are looking for a cost-effective solution: Rail transportation can often be a more cost-effective solution compared to other modes of transportation, especially for large shipments.
  • You want to reduce your carbon footprint: Rail transportation is one of the most environmentally friendly modes of transportation, emitting lower levels of greenhouse gases compared to road or air transportation.
  • You need to move goods through challenging terrains: Rail transportation can be a good option for moving goods through challenging terrains such as mountainous regions, where road transportation may be difficult.
  • You need to ensure the safety and security of your cargo: Rail transportation offers high levels of security for your cargo, with secure wagons and controlled access points along the route.
  • You want to optimize your supply chain: Rail transportation can be integrated with other modes of transportation such as road and sea, allowing you to optimize your supply chain and reduce transit time.

It is crucial to work with a trustworthy and knowledgeable transportation service provider, especially when transporting hazardous products, often known as ADR (dangerous goods regulations). ADR regulates the transportation of hazardous materials by land, rail, air, and sea and calls for certain protocols, training, and tools to guarantee everyone's safety. For your business, having a transportation service provider with ADR expertise is especially reassuring. You may put your faith in the safe and effective transportation of your hazardous materials, freeing up your time to work on other elements of your company. Working with a supplier who has an established track record in the ADR industry can also lessen the chance of incurring fines, legal troubles, or other expensive penalties as a result of failing to comply with ADR standards. Selecting a transportation service provider without the necessary tools or expertise handling hazardous materials might result in a number of serious problems:
  • Lack of experience and the appropriate tools can raise the risk of accidents, spills, and other safety issues that could endanger employees, the general public, and the environment.
  • Compliance issues: Several government agencies have rules governing the transportation of hazardous commodities, and breaking these restrictions can lead to fines, penalties, and other legal repercussions. An unskilled supplier might not have the skills and assets required to satisfy these legal criteria.
  • Problems with liability: In the event of an accident or spill, the company providing transportation services may be held accountable for any resulting harm or loss. The possibility of such occurrences increases if the provider lacks the necessary knowledge or equipment, putting the provider at a higher liability risk.
  • Cost: An unskilled provider may make errors that result in extra expenditures, such as charges for cleaning up spills or reimbursement for accidents-related injuries or property damage. Reputation: A hazardous products occurrence can harm a company's reputation and have a negative effect on its chances for future success.

Because some products transported in tank containers become thicker, or even solidify, at lower temperatures, it may be necessary to heat them prior to unloading… There are three different methods for heating tank containers. Steam, hot water and electricity. We decide which to use in each case upon customers’ request.
  • Steam (prior to unloading): High temperature steam is circulated (and re-circulated) through tubes lining the tank’s barrel. This is the most energy-efficient heating method.
  • Hot water (prior to unloading): A slower, but better choice for products which are sensitive to high contact temperatures.
  • Electricity (during transport): Tanks equipped with an electric heating system are used to transport products which must be maintained at specific temperatures throughout their journey.

Responsibility and accuracy are two features that are extremely important when transporting liquid goods. With this in mind, we offer professional cleaning of tank trailers and containers for the food, feed, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. ECS provide EFTCO (European Federation of Tank Cleaning Organisations) cleaning certificates. EFTCO is a 'non-profit' association committed to reliable, trustworthy and environmental friendly services of its members. No similar federation is available in the Globe. EFTCO represents 580 tank cleaning depots, in 25 European countries. EFTCO works together with interested parties on matters of Safety, Environment, Education and Technical improvements to develop a better understanding and practice in tank cleaning. EFTCO has cooperation with European Federations like the European Chemicals Council (Cefic), the European Chemical Transport Association (ECTA), the International Tank Container Organisation (ITCO). The activity is underpinned by the EFTCO Cleaning Document (ECD), owned by EFTCO and used by the cleaning companies to record in a multi lingual format the services completed. The ECD has unique numbering to provide traceable provenance by EFTCO's Members of any legitimate ECD
